Smoke Testing:

Inflow analysis is simplified by the low cost and speedy smoke testing techniques used by UTS . Smoke, issuing from openings, pinpoint sources of storm water inflow into sewage systems. Maintenance operations can quickly trace uncapped or abandoned lines; illegal connections, leaky manholes; odor problems; line stoppages; bad joints; rodent control, etc.
UTS utilizes
state of the art smoke blowers that produce high volumes of smoke, without
pressurizing (an subsequently condensing) it, Pneumatic plugs are used in
the main line to contain the smoke in the area being investigated. Survey
flags are placed over smoke plumes, and if required can be positioned with
GPS. (See page on GPS positioning, or click here)
